What a CONUNDRUM!

Here are few quotes which are used often:

ALL GOOD THINGS COME TO THOSE WHO WAIT but TIME AND TIDE WAIT FOR NONE

THE PEN IS MIGHTIER THAN THE SWORD but ACTIONS SPEAK LOUDER THAN WORDS

WISE MEN THINK ALIKE but FOOLS SELDOM DIFFER

THE BEST THINGS IN LIFE ARE FREE but THERE'S NO SUCH THING AS A FREE LUNCH

SLOW AND STEADY WINS THE RACE but TIME WAITS FOR NONE

LOOK BEFORE YOU LEAP but STRIKE WHILE THE IRON IS HOT

DO IT WELL, OR NOT AT ALL but HALF A LOAF IS BETTER THAN NONE

BIRDS OF A FEATHER FLOCK TOGETHER but OPPOSITES ATTRACT

DON'T CROSS YOUR BRIDGES BEFORE YOU COME TO THEM but FOREWARNED IS FOREARMED

DOUBT IS THE BEGINNING OF WISDOM but FAITH WILL MOVE MOUNTAINS

GREAT STARTS MAKE GREAT FINISHES but IT ISN'T OVER TILL IT'S OVER

PRACTICE MAKES PERFECT but ALL WORK AND NO PLAY MAKES JACK A DULL BOY

SILENCE IS GOLDEN but THE SQUEAKY WHEEL GETS THE GREASE

YOU'RE NEVER TOO OLD TO LEARN but YOU CAN'T TEACH AN OLD DOG NEW TRICKS

WHAT'S GOOD FOR THE GOOSE IS GOOD FOR THE GANDER but ONE MAN'S MEAT IS ANOTHER MAN'S POISON

ABSENCE MAKES THE HEART GROW FONDER but OUT OF SIGHT, OUT OF MIND

TOO MANY COOKS SPOIL THE BROTH but MANY HANDS MAKE LIGHT WORK

HOLD FAST TO THE WORDS OF YOUR ANCESTORS but WISE MEN MAKE PROVERBS AND FOOLS REPEAT THEM

.......and this proves that we change/modify statements according to our convenience. What I say will be liked by few and criticises by others. So do what you feel is right, with no gulit in your heart.

something to LEARN

It was a Sports Stadium.
Eight Children were standing on the track to participate in a running event.
                                         * Ready! * Steady! * Bang !!!
With the sound of Toy pistol, All eight girls started running. Hardly had they covered ten to fifteen steps, when one of the smaller girls slipped and fell down, Due to bruises and pain she started crying.

When the other seven girls heard the little girl cry they stopped running, stood for a while and turned back. Seeing the girl on the track they all ran to help. One among them bent down, picked her up and kissed her gently and enquired as to how she was.
They then lifted the fallen girl pacifying her. Two of them held her firmly while all seven joined hands together and walkedtogether towards the winning post.

There was pin drop silence at the spectator's stand. Officials were shocked.

Slow claps multiplied to thousands as the spectators stood up in appreciation.

Many eyes were filled with tears and perhaps even God's!

Very unusual. Right?
This happened in Hyderabad [India]. The sport was conducted by National Institute of Mental Health.

All these special girls had come to participate in this event. They were spastic children.
Yes, they were Mentally Challenged.

What did they teach the world.?
TEAM WORK. HUMANITY. EQUALITY AMONG ALL.

These slow thinkers helped their co-runner, so that she is not left far behind.

How many times have we done this? Well, we never do this because we have brains.

The Rain

It was a busy morning, about 8:30, when an elderly gentleman in his 80's arrived to have stitches removed from his thumb. He said he was in a hurry as he had an appointment at 9:00 am.

I took his vital signs and had him take a seat, knowing it would be over an hour before someone would to able to see him. I saw him looking at his watch and decided, since I was not busy with another patient, I would evaluate his wound. On exam, it was well healed, so I talked to one of the doctors, got the needed supplies to remove his sutures and redress his wound.

While taking care of his wound, I asked him if he had another doctor's appointment this morning, as he was in such a hurry.
The gentleman told me no, that he needed to go to the nursing home to eat breakfast with his wife. I inquired as to her health.
He told me that she had been there for a while and that she was a victim of Alzheimer's Disease.

As we talked, I asked if she would be upset if he was a bit late.

He replied that she no longer knew who he was, that she had not recognized him in five years now.
I was surprised, and asked him, 'And you still go every morning, even though she doesn't know who you are?'
He smiled as he patted my hand and said, 'She doesn't know me, but I still know who she is.'

I had to hold back tears as he left, I had goose bumps on my arm, and thought, 'That is the kind of love I want in my life.'

True love is neither physical, nor romantic.

True love is an acceptance of all that is, has been, will be, and will not be.

With all the jokes and fun that are in e-mails, sometimes there is one that comes along that has an
important message..

The happiest people don't necessarily have the best of everything; they just make the best of everything they have.

'Life isn't about how to survive the storm, But how to dance in the rain.'

We are all getting Older.....tomorrow may be our turn.

Enjoy life now-it has an expiration date!

life as seen by a child....

A woman came home from work late, tired and irritated, to find her 5-year old son waiting for her at the door.

SON: 'Mummy, may I ask you a question?'

MUM: 'Yeah sure, what it is?' replied the woman.

SON: 'Mummy, how much do you make an hour?'

MUM: 'That's none of your business. Why do you ask such a thing?' the woman said angrily.

SON: 'I just want to know. Please tell me, how much do you make an hour?'

MUM: 'If you must know, I make Rs 50 an hour.'

SON: 'Oh,' the little boy replied, with his head down.

SON: 'Mummy, may I please borrow Rs 25?'

The mother was furious, 'If the only reason you asked that is so you can borrow some money to buy a silly toy or some other nonsense, then you march yourself straight to your room and go to bed. Think about
why you are being so selfish. I don't work hard everyday for such childish frivolities.'

The little boy quietly went to his room and shut the door..

The woman sat down and started to get even angrier about the little boy's questions. How dare he ask such questions only to get some money?

After about an hour or so, the woman had calmed down , and started to think:
Maybe there was something he really needed to buy with that Rs 25.00 and she really didn't ask for money very often. The woman went to the door of the little boy's room and opened the door.

'Are you asleep, son?' She asked.

'No Mummy, I'm awake,' replied the boy.

'I've been thinking, maybe I was too hard on you earlier' said the woman. 'It's been a long day and I took out my aggravation on you. Here's the R25 you asked for.

The little boy sat straight up, smiling. 'Oh, thank you Mummy!' he yelled. Then, reaching under his pillow he pulled out some crumpled up bills.

The woman saw that the boy already had money, started to get angry again.

The little boy slowly counted out his money, and then looked up at his mother.

'Why do you want more money if you already have some?' the mother grumbled.

'Because I didn't have enough, but now I do,' the little boy replied.

'Mummy, I have Rs 50 now. Can I buy an hour of your time? Please come home early tomorrow. I would like to have dinner with you.'

The mother was crushed. She put his arms around her little son, and she begged for his forgiveness.

It's just a short reminder to all of you working so hard in life. We should not let time slip through our fingers without having spent some time with those who really matter to us, those close to our hearts. Do remember to share that Rs 50 worth of your time with someone you love.

If we die tomorrow, the company that we are working for could easily replace us in a matter of hours. But the family & friends we leave behind will feel the loss for the rest of their lives.

being TWENTY something.......

..............is really hard.
They call it the "Quarter-Life Crisis." It is when you stop going along with the crowd and start realizing that there are many things about yourself that you didn't know and may not like.
You start feeling insecure and wonder where you will be in a year or two, but then get scared because you barely know where you are now.
You start realizing that people are selfish and that maybe, those friends that you thought were so close to aren't exactly the greatest people you have ever met, and the people you have lost touch with are some of the most important ones. What you don't recognize is that they are realizing that too, and aren't really
cold, catty, mean, or insincere but that they are as confused as you.
You look at your job...and it is not even close to what you thought you would be doing, or maybe you are
looking for a job and realizing that you are going to have to start at the bottom and that scares you.
Your opinions have gotten stronger. You see what others are doing and find yourself judging more than usual because suddenly you realize that you have certain boundaries in your life and are constantly adding things to your list of what is acceptable and what isn't.
One minute, you are insecure and then the next, secure.
You laugh and cry with the greatest force of your life.
You feel alone and scared and confused.
Suddenly, change is the enemy and you try and cling on to the past with dear life, but soon realize that the
past is drifting further and further away, and there is nothing to do but stay where you are or move forward.
You get your heart broken and wonder how someone you loved could do such damage to you.
Or you lay in bed and wonder why you can't meet anyone decent enough that you want to get to know better.
Or may be you love but love someone lese too and cannot figure out why you are doing this because you know that you aren’t a bad person.
One night stands and random hookups start to look cheap.
GETTIN WASTED AND ACTING LIKE AN IDIOT STARTS TO LOOK PATHETIC.
You go through the same emotions and questions over and over, and talk with your friends about the same topics because you cannot seem to make a decision.
You worry about loans, money, and the future and making a life for yourself...and while winning the race would be great, right now you'd just like to be a contender!

What you may not realize is that everyone reading this relates to it. We are in our best of times and worst
of times, trying as hard as we can to figure this whole thing out.
Sit down for a while, take a deep breathe and ponder for a while.
